🍞 How to Make Air Fryer Bread
1. Make the Dough
Combine flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar in a bowl.
Add warm water and olive oil, then stir until everything comes together.
The dough will be sticky—this is normal.
2. First Rise
Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
3. Shape the Bread
Transfer the risen dough to a lightly floured surface.
Pull the edges of the dough in toward the center to form a smooth round loaf.
Place it upside down in a pan so the smooth side is on top.
Cut 2–3 slits across the top.
4. Prepare for Cooking
Line your round 6–8 inch pan with parchment paper, allowing the paper to come up the sides.
Place the shaped dough onto the parchment paper in the pan and let it rise for another 1 hour.
5. Preheat
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 10 minutes.
6. Bake
Place the bread pan in the air fryer basket.
Scatter a few ice cubes around the outside of the pan (inside the air fryer basket).
This creates steam that makes a lovely, crispy crust.
Air fry at 400°F for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
7. Final Crisp
Flip the bread and air fry for another 5 minutes.
8. Serve
Remove from the air fryer, cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.
💡 Helpful Notes
- Ice cubes help create steam, giving the bread a chewy, crisp outer crust.
- Use a 6–8 inch round baking pan for best results.
- Ensure your parchment paper reaches the sides of the pan but doesn’t stick over the top to avoid burning.
🧊 Storage & Reheating
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- Freeze for up to 3 months.
