How to Make Christmas Funfetti Cake

Step 1: Prepare the Oven

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan with butter or oil and set it aside.

Step 2: Make the Cake Batter

In a large mixing bowl, add the cake mix, milk, oil, egg whites, sour cream, and vanilla extract. Beat the mixture using a hand mixer or whisk until the batter becomes smooth and creamy.

Step 3: Add Sprinkles

Gently fold the red and green sprinkles into the batter. Do not overmix, or the colors may bleed.

Step 4: Bake the Cake

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 5: Cool the Cake

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely in the pan. This is important before adding frosting.

How to Make Cream Cheese Frosting

  1. In a bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
  3. Slowly add powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating after each addition.
  4. Beat on high speed for 1–2 minutes until the frosting becomes light, fluffy, and silky.

Assemble the Cake

Spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the cooled cake using a spatula. Sprinkle extra Christmas sprinkles on top for a festive look.
